Hey friends,

“My path of peace was right there available to me the whole time if only I’d just walk it.”

Pastor Matt shared stories from the Missional Youth Retreat at Concordia University in Texas and invited and challenged us to live a life of J.O.Y.: Loving Jesus, Loving Others, Loving Yourself. We sang some classic hymns together, shared an Ice Cream Social Saturday night, and celebrated Callie’s baptism Sunday at 10:30! Replay worship here.

Over the next three weeks in worship, we’re going to teach on each of those 3 letters: J.O.Y. Then, over the following eight weeks, we’ll teach you the eight everyday missionary practices that make up the path of peace (P.O.P.)

We hope as a result you will feel better equipped to confidently and compassionately live out and share your faith in Jesus in your everyday life. These are also great weeks to invite friends, family, and neighbors along!

This weekend, worship is brought to you by the letter J as I challenge you to consider what it can look like for you to Love Jesus. Colossians 3:12-17 is our text. The praise band will be rockin’, and we will celebrate communion! If you’re worshiping from home, request communion kit pickup here.

As we enjoy the slower pace of summer, some of our teams are already looking ahead, gearing up for a strong fall by welcoming and training new team members. Whether supporting others through DivorceCare, creating a warm welcome in Worship Hospitality, or helping run Worship Tech behind the scenes, there’s a place for you.

Take some time this week to pray about where God is leading you to serve and love others.

At Prince of Peace, we believe radical hospitality is how we share Christ’s peace—and one of the clearest ways we live that out is through our love for Lincoln School.

From weekly mentoring through Kids Hope, to Blessings in a Backpack, school supplies, staff encouragement, and more—we’re honored to walk alongside our neighbors at Lincoln.

This month, we’re celebrating those connections and inviting you to join in! Right now, we especially need Kids Hope mentors—just one lunch hour a week can make a big difference in a child’s life. And we welcome monetary donations to support weekend meals through Blessings in a Backpack.

Grab your ball caps and lightsabers—it’s time for a night at the ballpark! Join us on Friday, July 25 for Star Wars Night with the Schaumburg Boomers as they take on the Joliet Slammers. We’ve got a block of seats saved near the kids’ playground, so it’s a great night out for the whole family. Our Prince of Peace Choir will be kicking things off by singing the National Anthem—if you’d like to join in, reach out to Alex Falls, [email protected] or call the church office 847-359-3451. After the game, stick around for fireworks, a drone show, and a chance for kids to run the bases. It’s a night of food, friendship, and a little Star Wars magic. We’d love to see you there! Sign up here.

Your generosity is more than a number—it’s how we share Christ’s peace with our neighbors, our region, and the world. Every offering helps open our doors, support life-changing ministries, and extend care to those who need it most.

So far this year, you’ve given $583,890, which has helped fund 38% of our annual ministry work. We’re currently about $41,000 behind our giving goal for this point in the year, and as summer schedules shift, it’s easy to fall out of rhythm.

If you haven’t yet, this is a great moment to set up a recurring gift online. It’s a simple way to stay connected to the mission—even when you’re away—and to ensure that the peace of Christ continues to be shared without interruption. Thank you for being a vital part of the mission of Prince of Peace!

See you this weekend! I can’t wait to worship Jesus with all of you!
